How to get to Kolding

Where we are
The conference will be held at the new campus in Kolding. The address is:
Universitetsparken 1
6000 Kolding.

Note that you may not be able to find this address on every way-finder, as the street name is brand new.
The new campus is a very short walk (800 metres) from the railway station (Banegårdspladsen). See map/directions here.

How to get here from:

Copenhagen Central Station (Hovedbanegården)

Direct trains leave once an hour (28 minutes past the hour, direction Sønderborg/Esbjerg/Flensborg). The train takes about two hours and 15 minutes.

You can also take the fast train (direction Ålborg/Flintholm/Struer/Frederikshavn) and change in Fredericia (direction Esbjerg). The fast train leaves every hour (10 minutes to the hour) and this connection is actually slightly faster (10 minutes), despite the change of trains.

You can plan and pre-pay your train tickets here or buy at the Central Station in Copenhagen. Seat reservations are not required, but we definitely recommend them.

A return ticket Copenhagen-Kolding is just over 700 DKK (approximately €100).

Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup)
Kolding is about 2 and 1/2 hours train ride from Copenhagen Airport, with connections leaving every half hour. There are NO direct trains, so you either have to change at Copenhagen Central station (Hovedbanegården), Fredericia, or both.

You can also take the Metro from Copenhagen Airport to Nørreport, where there are direct trains that stop in Kolding leaving every hour.

Tickets for the trains can be bought at ticket machines and sales desks at the airport (at arrivals, just before you get to the platforms). There is also a ticket machine in the luggage hall and that is often the least busy one. You can also plan and pre-pay your train tickets on-line. Seat reservations are not required, but we definitely recommend them.

A return ticket Kastrup-Kolding is just over 700 DKK (approximately €100).

Billund Airport
From Billund there are direct buses (No 166) to Kolding approximately every two hours. The bus ride takes just over an hour and if you get off at the station just before the final stop (Buen), you are actually at the University! The timetable for bus 166 can be found here.

If your flight schedule does not fit the bus timetable, it IS possible to get to Kolding by other, more complicated routes. You can search for ALL the possible options here  and then determine for yourself whether you’d rather just wait for the direct bus.

A return on the bus no 166 is about 140 DKK (approximately €20), with other connections that involve the train, the price might be higher.

Hamburg Airport (Germany)
Take the S-Bahnlinie S1 to Hamburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), then a train from there to Flensburg. From Flensburg take the train towards Fredericia and get off in Kolding.

Or take a bus from the airport towards Kiel, get off in Neumünster. From Neumünster, take the train towards Fredericia and get off in Kolding.
You can check out your options
here.

A return ticket Hamburg Airport-Kolding is about €120 (approximately 900 DKK).
